TKC's ongoing battle against child abductions
Of all the martial art studios located on Staten Island, our school has taken the most agressive stance on the issue of child abductions. We have taught over 1,400+ Staten Island children and several hundred New Jersey children methods to fight off an attempted abduction. Our program was featured in a March 16, 2004 S.I. Advance article by staff writer Diane Lore.
Our course specifically teaches children ages 7 ~ 17 "what can be done PHYSICALLY if a stranger grabs you". This proactive program is available to be taught in schools (elementary, middle and high school), to religious or community groups, scouts, corporations (for the children of its employees), or to privately assembled groups.
For younger children, an information course with very limited physical techniques can be taught. Reasons: young children may use these dangerous techniques to resolve issues with other children - causing severe injuries. Also, it would be VERY difficult for a very small child to stun an adult affording them opportunity to run and get help.
